According to the BNAmericas website, the latest data released by Peru's National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) showed that the country's mining industry grew by 5.2% year-on-year in August.
Among them, the metal mining industry grew by 4.6% year-on-year, mainly due to the growth of copper (7.5%), zinc (6.8%), gold (8.3%) and iron ore (17.5%).
However, production growth for these metals was partially offset by lower production of silver (-4.1%) and molybdenum (-24.4%).
In August, the Peruvian oil and gas industry grew by 9.1%. Among them, condensate oil increased by 23.7% and natural gas increased by 16%.
However, crude oil production fell by 12.5%.
