On Monday, LME copper fell, approaching the four-month low touched last week, as worries about rising inventories and a stronger US dollar dominated market sentiment. LME registered warehouse copper stocks reached 163,900 tonnes, an increase of more than 200% since mid-July, highlighting a clear weakness in demand. Expectations of more metal flowing into the LME system led to a discount of around $70 between spot copper and three-month copper, the deepest in 31 years.
