Ningde Times has been awarded a A$1 billion (approx. RMB 4.7 billion) energy storage project in Australia. On 19th September, the Western Australian Government announced that it had signed contracts with Chinese company Ningde Times to provide containerised liquid-cooled battery systems for the Kwinana Battery Phase Two and Collie Battery projects. Additionally, Spanish company Power Electronics will provide inverters for both projects. The total value of the contracts is over A$1 billion (approx. RMB 4.7 billion).
Data shows that the Kwinana Battery Phase Two project officially started in June this year and is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. Once completed, the project will provide 200MW of power and 800MWh of energy storage capacity to Western Australia. This will help to balance the difference between power supply and demand, and improve the reliability and stability of the energy system.
