Yuxi, Yunnan: The government can purchase existing commercial housing to be used as resettlement housing for shanty town renovation

The Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau of Yuxi City, Yunnan Province issued the Notice on Issuing the “Yuxi City Shantytown Renovation Monetary Resettlement Management Measures”. The document clarifies that housing for shantytown reconstruction and resettlement can be existing commercial housing with suitable house size, which includes off-plan housing that has obtained a commercial housing pre-sale license and existing housing that has obtained a house ownership certificate. On the premise of meeting the local housing security requirements, the remaining affordable housing can be purchased as housing for shantytown reconstruction and resettlement. The purchaser is not restricted by the conditions for purchasing affordable housing, and the implementing entity should clarify the situation related to the secondary sale of affordable housing.
