According to SMM statistics, the global energy storage system shipments in 2023H1 reached 72.4 Gwh. China’s shipments were 47Gwh, accounting for 65%; overseas shipments were 25.4Gwh, accounting for 35%; global energy storage system shipments were still dominated by Chinese integrators. Tesla’s shipments in the first half of the year exceeded 7Gwh, ranking first in the world.

The top 10 suppliers were Tesla, BYD, Sungrow, HyperStrong, Nextera, Huawei, Fluence, Powin, KEHUA TECH and Narada. Shipments from the top 3 suppliers Tesla, BYD, and Sungrow were more than 7Gwh in the first half of the year. Directly reaching the user end through automobile sales outlets and other channels, Tesal and BYD formed a good sales channel, and their shipments were among the best; the shipments of the top 4-10 suppliers were 2.5-4Gwh, including domestic and overseas sales, though system integration.

In the first half of 2023, domestic energy storage system shipments reached 47Gwh. The top 10 companies shipped cargoes of nearly 34Gwh, accounting for about 70%; other domestic companies shipped about 13Gwh, accounting for 30%. The shipments of BYD and Sungrow were close, and stood at nearly 7Gwh in the first half of the year, accounting for as high as 30%. Shipments from the top 5-10 suppliers accounted for 3-5%.

In the first half of 2023, the total shipment volume of overseas companies was lower than that of domestic companies, and was about 25Gwh. Shipments from Tesla, the top 1 supplier in the first half of the year exceeded 7Gwh, accounting for 20% of overseas companies’ shipments. The total shipments from the top 2 supplier Nextera, the top 3 supplier Fluence and the top 4 supplier Powin were about 3Gwh. The shipments of other overseas companies in the first half of the year were about 1Gwh.

[SMM Silver Weekly Review: Silver Prices Rose Before Falling with a Bearish Weekly Candlestick; Mixed Signals Await New Catalysts to Break the Deadlock] Silver prices rose before falling this week, with the weekly chart posting a medium bearish candlestick. Prices rebounded to yuan/kg 16,188.5 at the start of the week, before being pressured by stronger-than-expected PMI data and geopolitical tensions to pull back to around yuan/kg 15,600 by the end of the week, giving back all of the week's gains. The macro front was supportive early in the week but turned negative later. Spot silver stockpiling ahead of the double holiday briefly boosted trading activity before it faded. Inventory saw a slight buildup of 14 mt, while ETF holdings edged higher. In the absence of clear short-term guidance, silver prices are likely to swing wildly in a wide range.

Polysilicon sees small-volume high-price deals, centralized module prices decline further [SMM weekly review]
[SMM Weekly Review: Polysilicon Sees Small Volume of High-Price Deals; Centralized Module Price Decline Widens] This week, China's module prices showed structural divergence, with distributed modules stopping falling and stabilizing while centralized modules saw a wider decline. On the distributed side, enterprise guidance prices remained unchanged, and average transaction prices for all specifications stayed basically flat this week, with only HJT modules edging down 0.0005 yuan/W. Supported by costs and industry self-discipline, module prices do not have much room for a sharp decline and are expected to consolidate in the short term. However, it is worth noting that low-efficiency modules have recently begun shipping rapidly, which to some extent affects the ability of conventional modules to hold prices firm. On the centralized demand side, marginal improvement continued: recent deliveries kept increasing, tenders for some large projects moved forward, and installations and orders both grew. Nevertheless, prices still lacked upward momentum, and the decline for the three specifications actually widened to 0.004 yuan/W this week.

[SMM PV News] Trinasolar Joins Hands with Intel to Explore New Paths for Computing-Power Synergy, Accelerating Green Intelligent Computing Industry Layout for AIDC
Recently, the "Intel Technology Innovation and Industrial Ecosystem Conference" was held in Suzhou. As a globally leading provider of PV+ESS smart energy solutions, Trinasolar was invited to attend the conference and joined hands with Intel to launch a pioneering computing-power coordination project. At the same time, Trinasolar delivered a speech on the theme of computing-power coordination, sharing its exploration practices and innovative solutions in the AIDC field, and releasing new momentum from the deep integration of the new energy industry and AI computing power. During the conference, Intel's computing-power coordination pilot project was officially launched. Xie Jian, Senior Vice President of Trinasolar, participated in the launch ceremony. This collaboration also signifies that, as AI computing power demand continues to grow, coordination between power and computing power is becoming an important direction for industrial development. Trinasolar's power cabins and Intel's computing power cabins will work together in depth to jointly explore the technical pathways and business models of "integrated computing and power." Leveraging its long-accumulated experience in the new energy power industry, Trinasolar is actively extending its capabilities from "power supply" to "computing-power coordination," providing new solutions and approaches for the next generation of green intelligent computing infrastructure.
