China Iron and Steel Industry Association President Tan Chengxu said at the sixth session of the sixth session of the China Iron and Steel Industry Association (expanded) meeting held in Anshan on the 29th that in the first half of the year, with the continuation of the recovery of the Chinese economy, steel production increased year-on-year, ensuring the steel demand for economic recovery and development. This year, Chinese steel enterprises have taken various measures to achieve balance between supply and demand, cost control, business safety, green development and other aspects. Official data show that in the first half of this year, the national crude steel output was 536 million tons, an increase of 1.3% year-on-year; pig iron output was 452 million tons, an increase of 2.7% year-on-year; steel output was 677 million tons, an increase of 4.4% year-on-year. [ Bharat Coking Coal Output Grows 2.8% in August ]

Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) announced that its coking coal production increased by 2.8% year-on-year to 2.18 million tonnes in August 2026. Despite a sharp 65.9% drop in non-coking coal output, the core metallurgical segment drove total raw coal production to 2.21 million tonnes for the month. Opencast mining operations were the primary contributors to this volume, generating 2.19 million tonnes of the total yield.
