SMM News, Sep 2，According to SMM sample data, China’s ammonium paratungstate (APT) output in August 2026 fell by 3% month‑on‑month. The cumulative domestic APT output from January to August stood at approximately 92,000 tonnes, a year‑on‑year decrease of 0.13%. In August, domestic APT prices trended weak, and industry margins contracted markedly. Most enterprises produced based on long‑term contracts and firm orders. Some smelters expanded toll‑processing businesses. The average industry operating rate reached 70.3%, marking three consecutive monthly declines. As of the end of August, certain finished‑product inventories remained to be digested across the sector.
