Battery-grade Nickel Sulphate Price Index Rose Slightly

SHANGHAI, May 22 (SMM) - Last Friday, quotes of battery-grade nickel sulphate were 32,700-33,300 yuan/mt, down 200 yuan/mt WoW. SMM battery-grade nickel sulphate price index was 33,160 yuan/mt last Friday, up 97 yuan/mt from a week ago. The ballooning lithium salt prices have urged downstream companies to purchase and inquire about nickel salt. However, spot nickel sulphate stocks carried by nickel salt producers generally stood low because of their production suspension or reduction in April-May, offering support to nickel salt quotes. On the demand side, the operating rates of ternary precursor companies increased slightly since some factories resumed operation. The nickel sulphate sellers and buyers wrestled over the prices last week. And the former held their quotes firm on low stocks and high costs, so the buyers placed few orders. The nickel sulphate prices will be 33,000-34,000 yuan/mt this week.
