According to customs data, in March 2023, China imported a total of 147,900 mt of aluminium scrap and shredded materials, an increase of 5.27% from February and a year-on-year increase of 35.81%.
Total imports in the first quarter of 2023 stood at 389,900 mt, up 22.53% year-on-year.
Total scrap supply improved in April, while orders underperformed compared with March. Therefore, aluminium scrap imports will drop slightly in April.
