Chongqing issued a document on pushing for the elimination of outdated capacity in 2023. According to the document, enterprises in highly-polluting and energy-intensive industries, such as steel, cement, and aluminium, will be subject to differential electricity prices and tiered electricity prices if their energy consumption and power consumption fail to meet the mandatory standards.
Chongqing will also include the virtual currency "mining" project into the implementation scope of differential electricity price policy.
