SHANGHAI, Apr 21 (SMM) – The average operating rate at copper rod plants using copper scrap will be at 56.08 % in April, down 2.67 percentage points MoM but up 3.73 percentage points YoY.
In April, due to the slow recovery of real estate demand, the demand for copper rods produced with copper scrap will be suppressed, combined with high finished product inventory.
Therefore, the producers will focus on destocking inventories and increasing cash flows in April, slowing their production pace.
Some copper rod factories using copper scrap as raw materials have plans to reduce production in April, and some factories have plans to switch to produce anode plate due to slow sales and low profit margin against poor demand for the old products.
