SHANGHAI, Apr 19 (SMM) – According to the latest report from Canalys, the global smartphone shipments in the first quarter of 2023 fell by 12% year-on-year, which is the fifth consecutive quarter of decline. Since the start of this year, unfavorable macro factors have eased slightly, but the digital consumer market has not recovered significantly. Samsung is the only leading manufacturer to achieve quarter -on- quarter growth, managing to return to the first place with a 22% market share. Meanwhile, Apple returned to the second place with a 21% market share, narrowing the gap with Samsung in the first quarter, driven by solid demand for the iPhone 14 Pro series. Driven by the release of new products at the end of the March quarter, Xiaomi maintained its third position with an 11% market share, but inventory adjustments are still in progress. OPPO and vivo strengthened their market positions in Asia-Pacific and China, accounting for 10% and 8% of the global market respectively.
