The average weekly operating rate across lead-acid battery producers in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei and Hebei provinces rose 5.13 percentage points from the previous week to 69.69% between April 8-14.
The weekly operating rate of lead-acid battery companies rebounded mainly due to the resumption of production after the Qingming Festival, when except for some large-scale lead-acid battery enterprises, most enterprises halted production for up to three days.
The output of battery enterprises increased last week compared with the prior week.
In April, the off-season of the lead-acid battery market has continued, and dealers are slow to digest goods. New orders have performed poorly in April, and some companies have already cut production due to rising inventory pressure. As such the operating rates did not fully recover last week.
