Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will pay a state visit to China from April 12 to 15. This is his first visit to China since he was released from prison in 2019. Lula's trip to China will include a visit to Huawei's innovation center in Shanghai, a move that could draw irritate the United States.
The visit came shortly after the two countries reached a deal to trade in their own currencies, instead of the US dollar.
