On April 4, XPeng announced that the S4 super-fast charging upgrade program, which was launched in 2023, has completed the renovation and upgrade of over 160 self-operated super-charging piles in the first quarter.
It is reported that XPeng announced the launch of S4 super-fast charging piles in August last year, which is developed by itself and has a maximum output power of 480 kW and a maximum output current of 670 A for a single pile.
The upgraded 160 piles are equipped with S4 super-fast charging capability, which can meet the highest replenishment power demand of many models; the upgraded piles have covered 91 cities nationwide, with 186 sets of S4 super-fast charging piles in total.
In 2023, XPeng will continue to expand the layout of the S4 super-fast charging network and is expected to build about 500 piles with S4 super-fast charging service capability within the year. And, according to XPeng’s previous plan, it will complete the S4 super-fast charging network coverage in key cities and along core highways across the country; by 2025, it will build another 2,000 super-fast charging piles.
In addition, XPeng also announced that in the first quarter of 2023, a total of 349 sets of new third-party stations with free charging rights for vehicle owners will be added.
