Due to the high operating rates of plain-carbon steel mills and the good orders, the supply of steel scrap has increased

SHANGHAI, Mar 21 (SMM) - Due to the high operating rates of plain-carbon steel mills and the good orders, the supply of steel scrap has increased. As such, the prices of plain-carbon steel scrap may maintain a slight decline. On the whole, the prices of 430 stainless steel fell under pressure in February. As the costs weakened, the spot prices fell rapidly. SMM expects that the prices of 430 stainless steel in March may decline amid the weak cost support. But the degree of losses may remain stable.

[SMM Nickel Flash] The SMM average price of 10-12% high-grade NPI fell 17.2 yuan/mtu WoW to 1,035.8 yuan/mtu (ex-factory, tax included), while the Indonesia NPI FOB index average price dropped 2.06 $/mtu WoW to 131.2 $/mtu.
