Aluminium Scrap Prices Remain Firm in Feb

In February, the overall price of SMM A00 aluminium fluctuated and fell.

SHANGHAI, Mar 16 (SMM) - In February, the overall price of SMM A00 aluminium fluctuated and fell. As of February 28, the average price was 18,330 yuan/mt, down 630 yuan/mt or 3.32% from the beginning of the month. Aluminium scrap prices in south China once grew apace and became relatively firm amid the supply tightness even though the overall prices dropped somewhat following the aluminium price trend. In detail, taint scrap prices slumped 300-500 yuan/mt, and tense scrap prices dipped 100-300 yuan/mt.

US Inflation Rises 0.3% in February, Matching Expectations; Fed Rate Cut Timing Unclear Amid Iran Oil Crisis

The latest US inflation data has been released, showing that seasonally adjusted CPI in February rose 0.3% MoM and was up 2.4% YoY; core CPI increased 0.2% MoM and rose 2.5% YoY, with all figures in line with market expectations.
