According to the SMM research, pure nickel inventory in six regions across China stood at 5,840 mt last week.

SHANGHAI, Mar 13 (SMM) - According to the SMM research, pure nickel inventory in six regions across China stood at 5,840 mt last week, up 966 mt from the previous Friday, which was in line with market expectations. Nickel briquette inventory stood at 650 mt, up 50 mt WoW, and nickel plate inventory recorded 5,190 mt, up 916 mt. Last week, the downstream demand remained poor even though nickel prices kept falling. Nickel briquette premiums crashed, and the purchases were mainly made by stainless steel mills and traders for the deliveries at the Wuxi market.
