SHANGHAI, Mar 8 (SMM) - The capacity utilisation rate in Jilin decreased slightly in February mainly due to the “Two sessions” and strict safety inspection followed by the mine accidents in Inner Mongolia. According to mine A in Yanbian, the insufficient raw ore supply weighed on its resumption plan and it plans to start beneficiation activities in May and resume its pellet production in June. Another mine B in Yanbian stated that even if their production resumes this year, the targeted customers are mainly state-owned steel mills, and small and medium-sized private steel mills will not be considered. In addition, a mine C located in Baishan said that although the production has resumed this year as the impact of the accident last year has weakened, but the safety inspections restrained production. As such, the output of iron ore concentrate was far below the planned amount.
