Imports of Lithium and Nickel Increased in November, Import Prices of Cobalt Continued to Fall

The import volume of lithium and nickel raw materials in November 2022 rebounded from October, and the import prices of cobalt raw materials continued to drop, according to a research report of CITIC Securities issued on January 4.

SHANGHAI, Jan 4 - The import volume of lithium and nickel raw materials in November 2022 rebounded from October, and the import prices of cobalt raw materials continued to drop, according to a research report of CITIC Securities issued on January 4.

In the first eleven months of 2022, China's imports of nickel raw materials were mixed. The cumulative imports of nickel ore and refined nickel fell by 10.3% and 38.3% year on year, respectively. The cumulative imports of nickel sulphate, hydrometallurgical intermediate nickel products and NPI rose 22.2%, 118.0% and 57.4% year on year, respectively.
