Global Iron Ore Shipments Maintained Significant Increase in the Week Ending September 25

SHANGHAI, Sep 26 (SMM) - SMM statistics showed that the global iron ore shipments totalled 34.97 million mt in the week ending September 25, an increase of 12.8% week-on-week.

SHANGHAI, Sep 26 (SMM) - SMM statistics showed that the global iron ore shipments totalled 34.97 million mt in the week ending September 25, an increase of 12.8% week-on-week. The shipments from Australia rose 12% on a weekly basis to 19.86 million mt, of which 16.71 million mt or 84.1% went to China, an increase of 20.5%. The shipments from Brazil jumped 22.7% on a weekly basis to 8.61 million mt, of which 3.97 million mt or 46.1% went to China, an increase of 74.9%.


The four major mining companies shipped a combined 26.63 million mt of iron ore last week, an increase of 4.19 million mt from a week earlier.



A total of 20.29 million mt of iron ore arrived at Chinese ports last week, down 13.57% week-on-week.
