The pig iron production affected by blast furnace maintenance stood at 1.9 million mt during July 30 and August 5, down 146,500 mt from the last session. The pig iron production cut is estimated at 1.74 million mt in the following session, down 166,600 mt from the current session, according to SMM statistics.

SHANGHAI, Aug 2 (SMM) – The pig iron production affected by blast furnace maintenance stood at 1.9 million mt during July 30 and August 5, down 146,500 mt from the last session. The pig iron production cut is estimated at 1.74 million mt in the following session, down 166,600 mt from the current session, according to SMM statistics.

In terms of construction steel, the production cut due to maintenance stood at 1.65 million mt in the current session, down 19,800 mt from the previous session. The production cut is estimated at 1.57 million mt in the next session, down 75,100 mt.

For HRC, the production affected by the maintenance amounted to 222,200 mt in the current period, down 21,500 mt from last week. The amount affected is estimated at 152,200 mt, down 70,000 mt on a weekly basis.

The final outcome remains subject to the authorities’ determination.
