Production and Sales of New Energy Vehicles Rose Significantly in April

SHANGHAI, May 11 (SMM) - According to the CAAM, China’s new energy vehicle production and sales were 312,000 units and 299,000 units respectively in April, up 43.9% YoY and 44.6% YoY respectively.

SHANGHAI, May 11 (SMM) - According to the CAAM, China’s new energy vehicle production and sales were 312,000 units and 299,000 units respectively in April, up 43.9% YoY and 44.6% YoY respectively. Despite being affected by the pandemic, new energy vehicle market maintained high growth. The production and sales of pure electric vehicles were 242,000 units and 231,000 units respectively, up 33% and 34.6% year-on-year; the production and sales of PHEV were 69,000 units and 68,000 units, up 100% and 94% year-on-year.

Production and sales of new energy passenger vehicles were 293,000 units and 280,000 units, down 33.8% and 39.2% from the previous month.
