SHANGHAI, Apr 28 (SMM) - The China Securities pointed out that the performance of gold was mediocre in 2021 and far underperformed commodities. However, in 2022, the U.S. economy will slow down significantly and there is a risk of economic recession, and the expectation of 7 interest rate hikes and the acceleration of the shrinking of the balance sheet did not weigh on gold prices, which reflects the characteristics of gold: "buy expectations and sell facts". Therefore, the environment in 2022 is more conducive to gold's performance, and gold is expected to outperform commodities and rise independently. The peak of commodity prices will also cause gold to undergo periodic corrections, but the pullback will bring better buying opportunities.
