






Following the successful production of 80mm guaranteed stainless steel ultra-thick plate, Jiangsu Qingruida stainless Steel Co., Ltd. made another breakthrough in the field of stainless steel ultra-thick plate on March 17th, successfully producing 100mm guaranteed stainless steel ultra-thick plate.
It is used in a large hydropower station project in China.
After laboratory testing, the technical specifications and mechanical properties of the 100mm stainless steel ultra-thick plate are up to the GB/T24511 standard. The continuous breakthrough in the field of ultra-thick plate indicates that the production technology level of Qingtuo stainless steel ultra-thick plate has reached the domestic leading level.
This super-heavy (15-ton), super-thick (100mm), ultra-wide (2650mm) stainless steel super-thick plate, used in a large domestic hydropower station project. In the large-scale hydropower station project, the equipment base will use the stainless steel super-thick plate, due to the restriction of technology, the traditional super-thick plate is molded, the cost is high and the construction period is slow. After learning that Qingtuo stainless steel has a mature production process of ultra-thick plate, the project decided to try to use stainless steel single rolled medium and heavy plate to replace the stainless steel die casting plate in the previous scheme.
Why is it so difficult to guarantee the performance of stainless steel plates greater than 70mm?
It is clearly stipulated in the GB/T24511 standard that the compression ratio of continuous casting billet should be more than 3 times in the production process of medium and heavy plate. A certain compression ratio is specified because the pressure of the rolling mill can solve the situation of bubbles, cracks and loose texture in the billet, eliminate casting defects and refine the grains of the steel, so as to ensure the subsequent processability. However, it is not easy to ensure the mechanical properties of the ultra-thick stainless steel plate which is greater than the thickness of 70mm. Because at present, the thickness of continuous casting billet in major steel mills is generally between 200 and 220mm, in order to meet the requirements of rolling compression ratio in GB/T24511 standard, generally only the medium and thick plates with 70mm thickness below can guarantee the mechanical properties.
This time, Jiangsu Qingruida, in cooperation with Qingtuo Group Research Institute, continues to use stack rolling process to solve the problem of billet compression ratio; at the same time, it further overcomes the technical problems such as temperature control and rolling force in the rolling process, and further increases the thickness of ultra-thick plate with guaranteed performance to 100mm.
Promote the progress of manufacturing industry with the progress of materials
In the manufacture of high-pressure and high-temperature containers, stainless steel plates are usually required to ensure mechanical properties. As our country's single stainless steel plate can not fully ensure the mechanical properties before, so the production of high-temperature, high-pressure vessels need to use stainless steel thick plate, usually use mold casting, or imported stainless steel thick plate.
The production cost of die casting is usually high, and the processing yield is low. If the continuous casting billet composite sheet is used to roll the medium and heavy plate, the yield can be significantly increased by about 20%, the use cost can be significantly reduced, and the container production cost control of high pressure and high temperature can be greatly improved.
The progress of materials promotes the progress of manufacturing industry. Under the leadership of the Qingshan spirit of "dare to be the first", Qingtuo people actively expand the application field of stainless steel medium and thick plate materials, solve practical difficulties for customers, constantly innovate the production and use of materials, and courageously scale new heights.
