Energy Storage Capacity in Shandong Is Scheduled to Reach 5 Million KW by 2025

On February 10, the Shandong Provincial Energy Bureau issued the Notice on the 2022 Annual Energy Storage Demonstration Project Bank, the 2022 project bank will be expanded again on the basis of 2021.

SHANGHAI, Feb 22 - On February 10, the Shandong Provincial Energy Bureau issued the Notice on the 2022 Annual Energy Storage Demonstration Project Bank, the 2022 project bank will be expanded again on the basis of 2021, covering lithium batteries, compressed air, liquid flow batteries, coal power heat storage, hydrogen storage and other new energy storage projects.

Among them, lithium battery energy storage projects will use lithium battery as the main energy storage components, and the projects’ voltage will be no less than 110 kV, the power shall be 50,000 kW or above, the continuous charging time should be no less than 2 hours, and the AC side efficiency will be at least 85%. The province strives to reach 5 million kilowatts of energy storage capacities by 2025.
