Global Nickel production increased by 8% year on year in USGS:2021

According to preliminary estimates by (USGS) of the US Geological Survey, global nickel production reached 2.7 million metal tons in 2021, an increase of 8 per cent over 2020 (2.51 million tons).

Indonesia's nickel production reached 1 million tons, making it once again the undisputed nickel head producer, followed by the Philippines (370000 tons) and Russia (250000 tons).

Indonesia's nickel production is expected to increase by 30 per cent, thanks to ongoing nickel pig iron and stainless steel projects, according to the US Geological Survey.
