Tsingshan Shipped First Batch of Nickel Matte Products Back to China from Indonesia

At present, 3 production lines have been completed in Tsingshan’s Morowali Park. Tsingshan Group shipped the first batch of nickel matte products since the disclosure of the nickel matte project in March 2021.

SHANGHAI, Jan 24 (SMM) – Tsingshan Group shipped the first batch of nickel matte products since the disclosure of the nickel matte project in March 2021. At present, 3 production lines have been completed in Tsingshan’s Morowali Park.

Previously, Tsingshan signed an agreement with Huayou and Zhongwei for the annual supply of 75,000 mt of nickel matte. The supply period is from October 2021 to October 2022.

As far as SMM understood, the total shipment volume this time is about 500 mt, which will be shipped to China together with NPI.

Nickel Prices Drop: SMM 10-12% High-Grade NPI Down 17.2 Yuan, Indonesia NPI FOB Index Falls 2.06 $/mtu

[SMM Nickel Flash] The SMM average price of 10-12% high-grade NPI fell 17.2 yuan/mtu WoW to 1,035.8 yuan/mtu (ex-factory, tax included), while the Indonesia NPI FOB index average price dropped 2.06 $/mtu WoW to 131.2 $/mtu. At the beginning of the week, futures hit limit-down, and nickel prices fell sharply WoW, driving the emergence of arbitrage supplies sold at low prices, leading to a significant decline in high-grade NPI prices.
