Recently, Chongqing Chuandong Shipyard and TISCO signed a new order for duplex stainless steel. This shipyard is the first user of TISCO duplex stainless steel to enter the field of chemical tankers in China. Over the past decade, East Sichuan Shipyard and TISCO have cooperated several times, which has witnessed the development process of TISCO duplex stainless steel helping to build chemical tankers in China and even in the world. Up to now, TISCO has built a total of nearly 100 chemical tankers, with a domestic market share of 85%, and has become the only supplier of duplex stainless steel plates in the field of chemical tankers in China.

It combines the advantages of high strength, high corrosion resistance, high surface and low cost, meets the transportation requirements of lightweight, maintenance-free, long life and multi-variety of chemical tankers, and adapts to the development trend of low-carbon green in the iron and steel industry. In 2021, Chinese shipping enterprises undertake 72.7% of the world's chemical tanker orders, and the substantial increase in this order has directly led to the demand for duplex stainless steel. According to the prediction of China Shipbuilding Industry Association, the completion of shipbuilding in China will exceed 40 million deadweight tons in 2022, which will directly promote the rapid development of iron and steel, electronics and electrical, communications and navigation industries.

TISCO is the first enterprise in China to develop and produce duplex stainless steel. In 2007, in the face of the urgent needs of the development of China's shipbuilding industry, Taigang gave full play to its technical advantages and produced the first domestic chemical shipbuilding duplex stainless steel plate, which was used in the manufacture of chemical tankers in East Sichuan Shipbuilding. and has passed China, Britain, France, the United States, Germany, Norway and other countries classification society certification, successfully replaced imports to fill the domestic gap.

In recent years, in order to adapt to the new changes in the market and the new needs of the steel industry, TISCO has further strengthened many key technologies, such as smelting steel cleanliness, thermoplasticity, regulation and control of heat treatment microstructure and properties, surface roughness, continuous and efficient pickling, and achieved remarkable results. the physical quality of duplex stainless steel products has reached the international advanced level, and customer satisfaction has been significantly improved. In 2016, TISCO made another breakthrough in duplex stainless steel, which was used in the construction of 33000-ton chemical tankers for the first time. Breaking through the construction of 10,000-ton chemical tanker is a milestone for domestic duplex stainless steel. In 2018, TISCO successfully delivered the order for the construction of the world's largest 49000-ton stainless steel chemical tanker. So far, TISCO duplex stainless steel has been successfully applied to the world's top ships, and its manufacturing technology has successfully ranked among the advanced ranks in the world.
