Indonesia Huayue Nickel-Cobalt Wet smelting Project with shares of Huayou and Luo Mo produced the first batch of qualified products.

Recently, the wet smelting project of laterite nickel ore with an annual output of 60,000 tons of nickel and 7800 tons of cobalt metal invested by Huayou Cobalt Industry and Luoyang Molybdenum Industry has made important progress, and some production lines have completed the installation and commissioning of the equipment. the first batch of products that have been put into trial production have been tested by Huayue Company and the main performance indicators of the products are qualified.

The project was launched in October 2018 and was built by Huaqing, a subsidiary of Huayou Cobalt, and Huayue, a joint venture between Qingchuang International and Woyuan Holdings. In November 2019, Luoyang Molybdenum Industry indirectly invested in Huayue Cobalt and Nickel through its wholly-owned subsidiaries, thus participating in the Huayue Company project, and currently indirectly holds a 30% stake in the Huayue Nickel-Cobalt Project.

The project is located in Qingshan Industrial Park, Molowari County, Sulawesi Island, Indonesia. Nickel and cobalt hydroxide is extracted from laterite by the internationally advanced third-generation high-pressure acid leaching process. Synchronize, coupling extraction of nickel, cobalt and manganese raw materials can produce ternary material batteries, green and environmentally friendly, and it is a perfect integration of Indonesian resources and Chinese technology. The commissioning of the project will be conducive to changing the current industrial pattern of the world nickel-cobalt industry.
