[Samsung will announce large-scale mergers and acquisitions Infineon or NXP in the near future] according to South Korean media businesskorea, Samsung Electronics is expected to announce a large-scale M & A deal in the near future. Infineon and NXP are listed as acquisition targets in order to develop non-memory business. Some analysts believe that it is possible for Samsung Electronics to acquire automotive semiconductor companies. Candidates include Infineon and NXP, which produce (MCU), a microcontroller for cars, and (PMIC), a power management integrated circuit.

Samsung Electronics is expected to announce a large-scale M & A deal in the near future, targeting Infineon and NXP in order to develop its non-memory business, according to South Korean media businesskorea.

Han Jong-hee, vice president of Samsung Electronics'DX division, said on the possibility of mergers and acquisitions (M & A) on "CES 2022": "if we can complete M & A transactions faster, we will choose them rather than go it alone." I think there will be good news soon. "

Some analysts believe that it is possible for Samsung Electronics to acquire automotive semiconductor companies. Candidates include Infineon and NXP, which produce (MCU), a microcontroller for cars, and (PMIC), a power management integrated circuit.

It is reported that Samsung Electronics launched GM flash memory for cars in 2017 and then provided the car processor "Exynos Auto 8890" to German carmaker Audi (Audi). The company also offered "Exynos Auto V9" to Hyundai in 2019. Since the end of last year, high-performance solid-state drive (SSD) and graphics DRAM have been provided to overseas automakers.

Samsung Electronics said at the beginning of last year that it would promote a meaningful Mumbai within three years. The company has more than 100 trillion won in cash. According to Samsung Electronics' financial statements for the third quarter of 2021 (July-September), Samsung Electronics' net cash (cash and realizable assets) is 101.4 trillion won.

However, industry insiders believe that supply chain competition may become a variable for Samsung Electronics. Due to the spread of the epidemic, the supply of semiconductors has been insufficient. Therefore, all countries regard ensuring chip safety as a top priority and do not want to sell their own chip companies to foreign countries.

"Europe will not allow Infineon or NXP to sell to companies from other countries," said one industry source. "

[SMM Flash] The Tantalum-Niobium International Study Center (T.I.C.) has published its 2026 Annual Report, providing updates on the international tantalum and niobium industry. The report highlights continued industry attention to supply-chain resilience, including diversification of supply, recycling, secondary materials and by-product recovery. These developments come as the tantalum value chain continues to navigate geopolitical, regulatory, tariff and broader supply-chain risks. The report provides an industry assessment rather than a new quantitative tantalum market balance or spot-price forecast. The focus on alternative and secondary sources is significant for a tantalum industry exposed to geographical concentration in primary mineral supply. Greater recycling, by-product recovery and diversification could broaden feedstock availability and reduce dependence on individual producing regions. For downstream consumers, these developments may also support efforts to strengthen responsible sourcing and long-term supply security as demand for tantalum continues across electronics, aerospace and other advanced applications.

European APT prices remain stuck near $3,000/mtu, with the domestic-overseas spread widening to about $2,000/mtu. The core bottleneck lies in limited APT smelting capacity and scarce spot liquidity, as rising mine output has yet to translate into available APT supply. In China, APT prices softened to RMB 590,000–600,000/mt amid weak supply and demand.
