Since 2020, a more obvious feature is that some battery enterprises have rapidly rolled out the installed capacity and capacity expansion under the blessing of customers, technology and capital, and become the new "guests" of TOP10 installed capacity.

According to data from the Power Battery Application Branch, in September this year, the installed capacity of power batteries in the Chinese market was about 15.9 GWH, an increase of 141.2% over the same period last year. From January to September, the installed capacity of power batteries was about 95.3 GWH, an increase of 178.8% over the same period last year. Among them, the installed capacity of TOP10 in September are Ningde Times, Fudi Battery, Guoxuan Hi-Tech, AVIC Lithium Power, Xinwanda, Honeycomb Energy, Yiwei Lithium Energy, Funeng Technology, Jiewei Power and Ruipu Energy.

Similarly, since returning to the TOP10 of power battery installation in the Chinese market in June this year, Jie Wei Power has stood firm in the TOP10 camp for four months in a row, in which the ranking of installed capacity jumped to No. 8 in August, both in terms of installed capacity growth and industry ranking.

While the installed capacity is growing steadily, in July this year, Jie Wei Power and Fosun signed a project investment cooperation agreement with the people's Government of Changxing County, Huzhou City. The three parties reached a consensus on the cooperation of Jie Wei Power Changxing new energy battery project, and the project officially started construction in October, which is the fourth largest power and energy storage battery production base in China after Tianjin, Yancheng and Jiaxing. It is expected that by 2025, Jie Wei Power will form the scale of 50GWh's power battery capacity, and the battery supply capacity to major customers will be further enhanced.

According to battery China, since May this year, the installed capacity of Jiewei power battery has increased rapidly for five consecutive months compared with the previous month. In the first nine months of this year, the total installed capacity of its power battery was about 935.6MWH, an increase of 224% compared with the same period last year, ranking 10th in China.

Judging from the supporting car companies so far this year, Jiewei Power has established in-depth cooperation with many traditional car companies and new car-building forces, such as Hezhong New Energy, Great Wall Automobile, Chery Automobile, Dongfeng and so on. Among them, Jiewei Power and Ningde era together constitute the main battery suppliers of car-building new forces and new energy.

At the same time, thanks to the increase in production capacity and technological innovation, Jie Wei Power has made positive progress in the expansion of mainstream customers since the beginning of this year.

In May this year, Jie Wei Power successfully passed the Dongfeng Nissan ASES audit and officially entered the Nissan supplier system; in the same month, it passed the audit of Geely commercial vehicles and received formal fixed-point notification from customers in June; and SAIC official fixed-point notification in October. In addition, Dongfeng HEV project products have been designated and have been mass produced, and other domestic car companies and other HEV projects are actively being promoted.

Soft bag battery is considered to be the preferred choice for medium and high-end passenger cars because of its high energy density, good safety, lightweight and easy to customize design. However, in recent years, with the support of system structure innovation technologies such as CTP (Cell to Pack) and blade technology, the energy density of vehicle battery system has been effectively improved, and the battery cost has also been reduced.

Comparatively speaking, because the shape of the soft bag battery is not easy to be fixed, it is difficult to realize the whole package CTP. At present, the industry mainly improves the space utilization of the whole package and reduces the cost by making large modules.

It is reported that at present, Jie Wei Power has developed a soft package cell with an energy density of 330Wh/kg; at the PACK level, the company has mass produced battery packs with an energy density of 190Wh/kg. However, if you can innovate on the soft package CTP, the whole package will achieve more power, lower cost and better space utilization, which will undoubtedly give full play to the advantages of the soft package battery.

It is reported that, based on years of technology accumulation and R & D innovation, Jiewei Power has developed and launched the CTP structure process of LCM& building block battery for the integration of soft package battery system. It is understood that based on the concept of soft package large module, Jie Wei Power improves the space utilization rate through the changes of different battery thickness, length and width, and realizes that the battery cells are arranged in the form of building blocks in the battery package.

"when the width of the cell is fixed, the length of the cell can cover 300mm, and the thickness can be compatible with 7mm and 18mm." according to Dr. Ma Hua, deputy director of the Jiwei Power Research Institute, the building block battery defines the basic unit according to the space requirements and cell size of the PACK. Different models support height, width and length extension in three directions, and can be flexibly designed according to the model PACK, similar to building blocks, with high flexibility. "the utilization rate of the whole package volume can be increased by 8%, 12%, while the cost can be reduced by 10%, 15%."

Based on the building block battery technology, Jie Wei Power is planning to launch the 120Ah battery cell, the module energy density can reach 230 Whhand kg, far exceeding the current mainstream battery pack level, and supports 18min fast charge technology, cycle life is also more than 2000 times, "Building block battery technology has been designed mature, and samples are sent to international car companies, mass production is expected soon."

In addition, in terms of CTC (Cell to Chassis) technology integrated with the battery and the whole vehicle, Jie Wei Power and Youyu Technology have reached a strategic cooperation to jointly develop CTC battery systems to promote the development of cutting-edge technology for intelligent electric vehicles.

Under the background of global electrification, from January to September this year, the sales of new energy vehicles in China has reached 2.157 million, an increase of nearly two times that of the same period last year, and is expected to exceed 3 million units for the whole year. Globally, the electrification of many governments and mainstream car companies has accelerated, the global production and sales of electric vehicles have maintained rapid growth, and the demand for power batteries is rapidly magnifying. At the same time, in order to protect the power battery supply and the right to speak, the car enterprises continue to support the second supply, the third supply and the fourth supply, which also provides a great opportunity for the power battery underachievers. Judging from the growth of Jie Wei Power's installed capacity this year, after Fosun entered the company, based on the advantages of technology, management, talent accumulation and innovation, as well as capital support in capacity expansion, Jie Wei Power has begun to make efforts.
