Costs of Lithium Carbonate Likely to Soar to 167,000 yuan/mt based on An Auction of Raw Materials in Australia

Pilbara Company, one of the largest producers of lithium pyroxene concentrate in Australia, conducted its second lithium pyroxene concentrate auction on September 14.

SHANGHAI, Sep 14 (SMM) - Pilbara Company, one of the largest producers of spodumene concentrate in Australia, conducted its second spodumene concentrate auction on September 14, with the final hammer price set at a record high of US$2,240/mt for a total amount of 8,000 mt (grade 5.2%-5.5%), significantly sending up the costs of lithium carbonate to 167,000 yuan/mt.
