Global Lithium Carbonate Trade in 2020: Chile is the World's Largest Exporter, and China is the Largest Importer

Lithium resource reserves in Chile totalled 4,600 LCE equivalent, accounting for 44% of the total.

SHANGHAI, Aug 30 (SMM) – Global lithium carbonate trade in 2020: Chile is the world's largest exporter of lithium carbonate as it boasts high-quality natural salt lake brine resources; China, South Korea and Japan are top three importers as they are lithium battery raw materials producers.

According to the data from the U.S. Geological Survey, in terms of global lithium resource reserves, reserves in Chile totalled 4,600 LCE equivalent, accounting for 44% of the total.
