All the equipment of the first and second phase of the project are imported from the world's leading technology companies in the United States, Japan, Switzerland and other countries, and the production process is controlled by international leading network technology. Through the joint efforts of all the staff of the company, ZPSS won the first place in the ranking of overseas investment enterprises of POSCO in South Korea in 2003. at the same time, the company was also awarded as a high-tech enterprise in Jiangsu Province, and cold-rolled stainless steel sheet was awarded as a high-tech product in Jiangsu Province.

In order to solve the raw material supply problem of the cold rolled stainless steel production enterprises invested by POSCO in China (ZPSS and Qingdao Posco stainless Steel Co., Ltd.) and to contribute to the development of China's iron and steel industry, as well as to reduce production costs and improve the economic benefits of ZPSS, POSCO decided to carry out the expansion project of STS Primary Steel Institute on the basis of the first and second phases of ZPSS project. The expansion project is located on both sides of the highway along the river in Daxin Town, Zhangjiagang City, which is 8Km distance from the first and second phases of the project. The project includes three main projects of stainless steel smelting, continuous casting and hot rolling, with an annual production capacity of 600000 tons of hot rolled stainless steel plate. The main products are 300 series and 400 series high value-added hot rolled stainless steel. The expansion project was approved by the state on September 8, 2003, with a total approved investment of US $744 million. The proportion of investment is 82.5% for South Korean POSCO and 17.5% for Jiangsu Shagang Group. On October 31, 2003, the headquarters of the ZPSS expansion project was established, and the planning and design of the stainless steel expansion project began. After 19 months of painstaking and intense construction, the expansion project completed the construction process of the consistent iron institute on July 31, 2006, officially announcing that ZPSS has since become a veritable one.

The ZPSS expansion project has introduced a lot of foreign advanced equipment and technology. In terms of equipment, it has a small number of Steckel mills in world-famous iron and steel companies, which can produce hot-rolled products efficiently and quickly, changing the traditional technological process of iron and steel companies in the past. at the same time, the company independently developed an advanced network control platform running through all the equipment of the company, focusing on the development of three-level network systems such as ERP and MES, which effectively ensured the optimal allocation of the company's overall resources. In order to achieve the purpose of environmental protection, the expansion project introduces the most advanced equipment dust removal and byproduct recovery system in the construction process, which changes the malpractice that the original iron and steel companies only pay attention to production benefits while neglecting the benefits of environmental protection. to make its own contribution to the construction of "green iron and steel".
