On 9 July, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced that the (BIS) of the Industrial and Security Agency had added 34 entities to the list of entities because they were involved in or were likely to participate in activities that violated the foreign policy and national security interests of the United States. Among them, 23 Chinese entities have been added to the list, including 14 Chinese enterprises that have been listed by the United States because they are involved in human rights issues in Xinjiang. The entity list prohibits United States companies from doing business with specific listed companies without the permission of the United States Government.
A spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce responded that the US side has generalized the concept of national security, abused export control measures, ignored the facts, and once again put 23 Chinese entities on the "entity list" on the grounds of the so-called "human rights." This is an unreasonable crackdown on Chinese enterprises and a serious violation of international economic and trade rules, which the Chinese side firmly opposes. The United States should immediately correct its erroneous practices. We will take necessary measures to resolutely safeguard China's legitimate rights and interests.
