SHANGHAI, Apr 9 (SMM) – Operating rates across lead-acid battery producers in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei and Hebei provinces lost 2.33 percentage points from the previous week to 75.71% as of Friday April 9.

End-user consumption of lead-acid batteries further weakened after the Qingming holiday. Daily sales at some distributors slid by nearly 50% compared with March, and orders at battery makers also declined. Some battery producers took 1-2 days off during the holiday.

Demand for e-bike and automotive batteries from distributors was extremely sluggish currently.
