According to the official Wechat official account of the China Semiconductor Industry Association, after many rounds of discussions and consultations, the semiconductor industry associations of China and the United States announced today the joint establishment of the "Sino-US Semiconductor Industry Technology and Trade restriction working Group". It will establish a timely communication information sharing mechanism for the semiconductor industry of China and the United States, and exchange policies on export control, supply chain security, encryption and other technical and trade restrictions.
The associations of both sides will each appoint 10 semiconductor member companies to participate in the working group, and the working group will meet twice a year, and the association of both sides will be responsible for the specific organization of the working group.
After the news, Hong Kong semiconductor concept stocks immediately rose. By the midday close, Huahong Semiconductor was up more than 9%, SMIC was up more than 7%, and Jingmen Semiconductor was up more than 6%.
Data show that the China Semiconductor Industry Association was established on November 17, 1990. It is a national non-profit social organization voluntarily formed by the national semiconductor industry engaged in the production, design, scientific research, development, operation, application and teaching of integrated circuits, semiconductor discrete devices, semiconductor materials and equipment, experts and other relevant supporting enterprises and institutions.
At present, Zhou Zixue, chairman of SMIC, is the chairman of the association. As of February 26, there were 774 associate members and 19 vice chairmen, including some Dong Jiangao members of many semiconductor industry companies, such as Changdian Technology, Tongfu Weidian, Huarun Wei, Shanghai Huahong, Ziguang Group and so on. Xu Zhijun, vice chairman of Huawei Technology Co., Ltd., is also on the list.
Since the second half of last year, there has been good news that relevant US suppliers have been getting licenses one after another in the semiconductor industry. After A-share trading on March 3, SMIC announced that it had extended the purchase agreement with Asmai, a Dutch lithography machine manufacturer, with a value of US $1.202 billion.
Later in the day, the electronic team of Societe Generale Securities Research Institute issued a report confirming the above news, saying that some of SMIC's suppliers had obtained the relevant licenses after being verified by its industry chain.
Among them, among some suppliers in the United States, Company A has obtained the relevant license, and Company L and Company K are still waiting for the result, judging that they will also get the license one after another, which takes 10nm as the demarcation point, 14nm and above process-related products are licensed, and 10nm and the following nodes do not get the license.
Societe Generale Securities said that as far as the industrial chain is concerned, SMIC's license event means that the future expansion visibility and certainty of domestic fab storage plants will be further enhanced. Continue to be optimistic about the long-term development opportunities of equipment and materials in the industry chain of fab storage plants.
On the other hand, in recent years, the national policy level has repeatedly mentioned to speed up the advanced semiconductor manufacturing process and other "sticking neck" technology, and its demand for localization is becoming stronger and stronger. Driven by the policy, with the accumulation of technology, China's industrial chain has made great progress in the field of equipment, materials and wafer manufacturing.
