Hebei Taihang Iron and Steel commissioned its 1# blast furnace

SHANGHAI, Mar 1 (SMM) — On February 20, the relocation and reconstruction project of Hebei Taihang Iron and Steel's 1# blast furnace was successfully put into operation. The molten pig iron was produced on February 21. The blast furnace has an annual capacity of 1.3 million mt.

Hebei Taihang Iron and Steel belongs to Taihang Group. According to SMM data, Hebei Taihang Iron and Steel originally planned to build two 1,520 m³ blast furnaces, two 1.2 million mt converters, and one 1.2 million mt pellet rotary kiln equipment. According to the plan , after full production, Hebei Taihang Iron and Steel's crude steel production capacity will reach 2.8 million mt, pig iron production capacity will reach 2.7 million mt, and pellet production capacity will reach 1.2 million mt.
