SHANGHAI, Feb 5 (SMM)—SMM made a survey about the 2021 Chinese New Year (CNY) holiday plans at Chinese secondary aluminium plants and downstream die-casting producers, and details are as follows.
Large-scale secondary aluminium plants will mostly start the holiday during February 9-11, and resume operations after February 16, being off for 6-12 days, while some of them will operate normally during the holiday, just as previous years. Small and medium-scale plants closed a little earlier than large producers, and a few of them will not suspend production due to robust orders. Plants in Hebei province halted production early as transport of raw materials has been restricted due to a resurgence of COVID-19 cases in the region.
Most of the aluminium die-casting plants began the holiday after February 4, and will restart production after February 17. Some producers that have many orders to fulfill will shorten the holiday, but almost no die-casting plants will operate as usual during the holiday.
