Secondary lead smelters operating rates dropped 1.3% this week

Operating rates across licensed smelters of secondary lead in Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan and Guizhou averaged 46.2% in the week, down 1.3 percentage points from the previous week, an SMM survey showed.

SHANGHAI, Jan 29 (SMM) — Operating rates across licensed smelters of secondary lead in Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan and Guizhou averaged 46.2% in the week, down 1.3 percentage points from the previous week, an SMM survey showed.

The average operating rates remained unchanged on the week at 47.1%, 70.2%, and 33.3% in Anhui, Henan and Jiangsu respectively.

The operating rate in Guizhou dropped 7.3 percentage points on the week to 37.8%, mainly due to Yongxin’s production suspension for holiday.

The alert for the heavy air pollution in Henan was lifted this week. Xincheng Power, Jinhui and other smelters resumed production, but Hebei Shichang and Henan Jiayi suspended production for holidays. Guizhou Dingxin and Cenxiang will enter the holiday next week, and Guizhou Huoqilin will also stop the refining production line. The operating rates are expected to drop further next week.

Masivo Intersects 32.5 Metres of Polymetallic Mineralisation at Cerro Colorado Grading 0.271% Zinc and 0.141% Lead

Masivo Silver reported assays from CC-26-001, the first hole of its 2026 drilling program at the Cerro Colorado project in Sonora, Mexico. The hole intersected 32.50 metres from 226.30 to 258.80 metres grading 0.271% zinc, 0.141% lead, 7.0 g/t silver, 0.025% copper and 0.010 g/t gold. A separate 5.10-metre interval from 215.10 metres graded 0.611% zinc, 0.121% lead and 24.0 g/t silver. The hole was terminated at 259.5 metres because of technical drilling difficulties while still within altered and mineralised rock. Masivo plans to integrate the assays with geological, structural, alteration and geophysical information to guide follow-up drilling testing lateral and vertical continuity. The company states that all reported intervals are drilled lengths and true widths have not yet been determined.
