SHANGHAI, Jan 22 (SMM) – Operating rates across lead-acid battery producers in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei and Hebei provinces remained unchanged from the previous week at 74.36% in the week ended January 22.
Orders at lead-acid battery makers were moderate this week as distributors conducted pre-holiday stockpiling. As COVID-19 cases continue to rise in China, battery makers stopped receiving orders from some high-risk areas and remote areas this week, and restocked lead raw materials for the upcoming Chinese New Year holiday. Some producers in Guangdong and Fujian will start the holiday next week.
