Announcement on the correction of publishing date of SMM Copper Concentrate Index on 1st Jan, 2021 to 31st Dec, 2020

Dear subscribers,

We have to apologize for mistaking in publishing SMM Copper Concentrate Index on 1st Jan,2021 due to technical issue, which caused Index published on 31st Dec,2020 shown as published on 1st Jan,2021.

According to the methodology of SMM Copper Concentrate Index, SMM copper concentrate Index is officially published on working Friday, or the last trading day of the week if Friday is Chinese public holiday.

We are declaring officially to correct the publishing date of SMM Copper Concentrate Index(weekly) from 1st Jan,2021 to 31st Dec,2020 by following SMM pricing compliance requirement.

Once again, we are truly sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Recycled copper now accounts for nearly 40% of global supply, far above nickel's 22%, making secondary supply a key structural variable. To improve data quality, SMM has opened a ground-level office in Zambia to collect first-hand copper mining data rather than relying on satellite-derived estimates.

Today, #1 copper cathode spot prices in North China against the front-month contract were reported at an average discount of 380 yuan/mt to a discount of 280 yuan/mt, with the average discount of 330 yuan/mt up 20 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. The average transaction price was 104,925 yuan/mt, down 1,435 yuan/mt from the previous trading day.
