Lithium carbonate imports to remain high, average import prices in Jiangxi and Shanghai were low

Imports of lithium carbonate totalled 6,554 mt in October, up 25.61% month on month and 98.99% year on year; the average import prices stood at $4,416/mt, up 5.51% on the month but down 36.24% on the year.

SHANGHAI, Dec 1 (SMM) — Imports of lithium carbonate totalled 6,554 mt in October, up 25.61% month on month and 98.99% year on year; the average import prices stood at $4,416/mt, up 5.51% on the month but down 36.24% on the year.

China imported 38,547 mt of lithium carbonate in January-October, up 56.8% year-on-year. 58.4% of imports from Chile arrived in Shanghai, with an average import price of 24,552 yuan/mt, 22% in Jiangsu, with an average import price of 43,386 yuan/mt, and 12.4% in Jiangxi, with import prices averaged at 24884 yuan/mt.
