Recently, the Ministry of Commerce and the General Administration of Customs issued an announcement on adjusting the catalogue of prohibited commodities in processing trade.

SHANGHAI, Nov 17 (SMM) — Recently, the Ministry of Commerce and the General Administration of Customs issued an announcement on adjusting the catalogue of prohibited commodities in processing trade, excluding products that are in line with the national industrial policy, do not belong to high energy consumption and high pollution, and products with high technical content from the catalogue of prohibited commodities in processing trade in Announcement No.90 of the General Administration of Customs of the Ministry of Commerce in 2014, with a total of 199 ten-digit commodity codes removed. At the same time, the prohibition methods of some commodities have been adjust. The adjusted catalogue of prohibited commodities in processing trade is still implemented according to the relevant provisions of Announcement No.90 of the General Administration of Customs of the Ministry of Commerce in 2014, which will be implemented from December 1, 2020.

The so-called processing trade refers to the business activities in which an enterprise imports all or part of raw and auxiliary materials, spare parts, components and packaging materials (hereinafter referred to as materials) and re-exports the finished products after processing or assembly, including processing with processing trade and processing with supplied materials. Common processing trade modes include: processing trade, processing with supplied materials, assembly business and cooperative production.
