Iron ore arrivals at Chinese ports fell 460,000 mt on week

A total of 85 vessels carrying 14.33 million mt of iron ore arrived at major Chinese ports during November 1-7, SMM estimates. This was down 460,000 mt from the previous week, but up 3.05 million mt from the same period last year.

SHANGHAI, Nov 10 (SMM) – A total of 85 vessels carrying 14.33 million mt of iron ore arrived at major Chinese ports during November 1-7, SMM estimates. This was down 460,000 mt from the previous week, but up 3.05 million mt from the same period last year.

For the same week, iron ore deliveries leaving Australian ports declined 1.41 million mt on a weekly basis but increased 1.09 million mt on a yearly basis, to 15.34 million mt.

Shipments that departed Brazilian ports were estimated to shrink 1.95 million mt week on week to 6.55 million mt, basically the same as last year.
