Operating rates across lead-acid battery producers in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei and Hebei provinces averaged 74.59% in the week ended October 30, up 2.28 percentage points from the previous week.

SHANGHAI, October 30 (SMM) – Operating rates across lead-acid battery producers in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei and Hebei provinces averaged 74.59% in the week ended October 30, up 2.28 percentage points from the previous week.

Demand from distributors was moderate, and most of the battery makers continued to produce as required. Improved orders from NEV makers, development of new products and a large-scale battery maker in Hebei stepping up production to operate at full capacity accounted for the increase in operating rates.

Battery output is likely to rise next week as large-scale battery makers are expected to ramp up production as it is approaching the end of this year.
