Primary lead smelters operating rates unchanged on week

Operating rates across primary lead smelters in Henan, Hunan and Yunnan provinces remained unchanged week on week at 58.5% in the week ended October 23, showed an SMM survey.

SHANGHAI, Oct 23 (SMM) — Operating rates across primary lead smelters in Henan, Hunan and Yunnan provinces remained unchanged from the prior week at 58.5% in the week ended October 23, showed an SMM survey.

The average operating rates in Henan, Hunan and Yunnan stayed at 76.9%, 37.6% and 42.1% respectively.

Spot trades were quiet this week as falling lead prices prompted smelters to sign long-term contracts. When Hunan Jingui would restore production is still uncertain.
