SMM News: recently, PT Trinitan Metals&Minerals Tbk (TMM) and PT Bangun Palu Central Sulawesi (BPST) signed a joint agreement to build a nickel smelter in (KEK), Palu Special District. The two sides agreed to build a nickel smelter on 200 hectares of land.

It is reported that TMM is a company engaged in mineral refining technology, mining waste management and mining exploration. One of TMM's ongoing developments is a stratified refining process using Indonesia's hydrometallurgical wet acid leaching (STAL) technology to minimize solid waste and minimize water and energy consumption.

"TMM has STAL technology, which is a solution for the treatment of low-grade nickel laterite because it can process low-grade nickel into 99.96% nickel (LME grade), as well as nickel sulfate (NiSO4) and cobalt sulfate (CoSO4) battery grade. Therefore, we are prepared to absorb more low-grade laterite nickel ore from the miners. "
