Present at the event were Chen Yongyi, standing Committee member and head of United Front work Department of Tianjin Beichen District Committee, Hu Xuechun, Deputy District Mayor, Zheng Gaoqing, Party Committee Secretary, Chairman and General Manager of the Company, Yu Tong, CFO, Zhou Wenqi, Chairman of North China Group, Ling Yulan, President of Shenzhen Qianhai Joint Trading Center, Li Jing, General Manager of GKE Singapore Metal Logistics Company, and more than 200 customer representatives of Huabei Group's manufacturing industry.

In his speech, Chen Yongyi, on behalf of the district party committee and district government, congratulated Jiang Copper on the completion and commissioning of the new 220000-ton copper rod production line in North China and the opening of the QME designated settlement warehouse. He said that the completion of Jiang Copper's new copper rod production line in North China marked the transformation of Tianjin copper industry from traditional manufacturing to intelligent manufacturing, and at the same time, the establishment of the first QME designated settlement warehouse in the northern region. It is of great significance to promote our region and even Tianjin to become the production and trade center of copper products in northern China in the future.

Zheng Gaoqing said in his speech that the project with an additional annual output of 220000 tons of copper rod and wire in North China is a key project for Jiang Copper Group to optimize its industrial layout and help Jiang Copper to achieve a "three-year innovation multiplier". QME designated settlement warehouse will rely on Shenzhen Qianhai Joint Trading Center platform warehousing, warehouse receipt services and strong brand effect, so that Jiangtong North China has a new production and operation model. In the future, with the strong support of leaders at all levels in Tianjin and Beichen District, Jiang Tonghua will enter a new stage of high-quality and great-leap-forward development, which will add new vitality and make new contributions to the economic and social development of Tianjin.

Ling Yulan said that while the North China Group has always done its utmost to support Jiang Copper North China to strengthen technological innovation and enhance the scale of production capacity, it also encourages enterprises to transform and upgrade to high-end manufacturing, intelligent manufacturing, smart manufacturing and green manufacturing. Continue to promote the high-quality development of Jiang Copper in North China.

Dong Feng said that as a commodities trading platform jointly initiated by the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and Qianhai Financial Holdings, the establishment of a settlement warehouse in North China by QME will be of great significance to promote the trading of electrolytic copper and copper rods in North China and form a regional benchmark price.

During the ceremony, Zhao Shuguo, General Manager of Jiang Copper North China, and Yuan Jiao, General Manager of GKE Kaiqian (Shanghai) warehousing and Logistics Company, signed a cooperation agreement on behalf of both sides. The unveiling of the QME designated settlement warehouse and the signing of the cooperation agreement mark the official opening of the QME designated settlement warehouse, and Jiangtong North China has also entered a new development stage of interconnection with multi-industries and constantly generating the value of industrial convergence.

Chen Yongyi, member of the standing Committee of the Beichen District Committee and head of the United Front work Department of the District Party Committee, Zheng Gaoqing, secretary of the party committee, chairman and general manager of the company, and Zhou Wenqi, chairman of the board of directors of North China Group, jointly unveiled the finished products of Jiang Copper's new continuous casting and rolling copper rod production line in North China.

Hu Xuechun, deputy director of Beichen District, Yu Tong, the company's financial director, Ling Huancheng, vice president of North China Group, and Lee Jing, general manager of GKE Singapore Metal Logistics Company, jointly unveiled the QME designated settlement warehouse.

During this period, Zheng Gaoqing visited and inspected Jiang Copper's two major new projects in North China: "brand-new 220000-ton continuous casting and rolling production line" and "QME designated settlement warehouse", as well as the production workshop of North China Cable Plant.

It is understood that Jiang Copper North China (Tianjin) Copper Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Jiang Copper North China") is jointly invested by Jiangxi Copper Co., Ltd. and Tianjin North China Cable Factory Co., Ltd., and formally produced and operated in 2015. The main equipment is the imported SCR4500 copper rod continuous casting and rolling production line with an annual output of 220000 tons, producing and selling Φ 8mm copper rods. Over the past five years, with its high-end products and stable quality, Jiang Copper and Yushan brand products have become more and more influential in North China, and the products are in short supply. Based on the excellent operation and management results of Jiang Copper in North China and the good growth expectation for the northern copper rod market in the future, Jiang Copper North China started to build a new 220000 ton continuous casting and rolling production line on August 23, 2019. After the new project reaches the production standard, the annual production capacity, sales income, profit and tax of Jiang Copper in North China are expected to double, which will further improve the industrial layout of Jiang Copper around the Bohai Sea and enhance the share and popularity of Jiang Copper products in the northern market.

Konkola Copper Mines has restarted its Nchanga copper smelter in Zambia and cast the first copper anode following a 106-day shutdown. SMM Morning Meeting Summary: Overnight, LME copper opened at $14,236/mt, rose to an intraday high of $14,263.5/mt after the open, then consolidated and pulled back to $14,181, before rallying again in late trading to close at $14,250/mt, up 0.96%. Trading volume reached 16,000 lots, and open interest stood at 261,000 lots, down 5,780 lots from the previous trading day, reflecting bear position reductions. Overnight, the most-traded SHFE copper 2610 contract opened at 108,020 yuan/mt, hit an intraday high of 108,170 yuan/mt, then pulled back to an intraday low of 107,770 yuan/mt, and finally closed at 107,960 yuan/mt, up 0.66%. Gravita Targets 60,000 t/y Copper Recycling Capacity as New Business Reaches 50% Utilisation
Gravita India is scaling up its newly established copper recycling business following the acquisition of Rashtriya Metal Industries. The segment currently has 31,200 t/y of capacity, operated at around 50% utilisation in Q1 FY2027, and generated Rs 3.76 billion in quarterly revenue. Gravita plans to lift utilisation above 60% by year-end while commissioning a new 29,400 t/y copper recycling plant in Gujarat within the next 12 months. Total copper recycling capacity is targeted to reach around 60,000 t/y over the next three years. The company is also developing direct scrap procurement yards in markets including the U.S. to secure copper and other recycled feedstocks and reduce exposure to supply disruptions in existing sourcing channels.
